“Lovely villa, very private”Villa Artemis is a great place right on the top of a hill, so not overlooked, but still secluded so not too windy. The garden faces North, which is perfect - so the terraces are shady and usable all day but the large private pool is in the sun. The villa is spacious and clean, and there are three dining areas, inside, on the terrace, and down by the outside BBQ, so you can choose where you want to be. There's also air conditioning in every room, if you don't want it too hot. The owners are very friendly, and responsive to any problems (we had an air-con problem, and they came right over and fixed it). The only two things that stop me rating this villa as superb, were 1) There are no actual showers in the villa, and although the baths have shower attachments, none of them have a wall fixing, so you have to crouch in the bath and try not to make a mess; and 2) We did quite a lot of cooking, and the kitchen knives and implements were not great - no non-metal implements to use on a non-stick frying pan... Not a big deal, but just annoying for an otherwise amazing place! Towels for indoor and pool use were supplied, and the cleaner also came in mid-week as did the pool guy. The pool was lovely and clean and quite warm, and has a jacuzzi built in at one end (it's part of the pool though, not a separate hot-tub). The location is pretty good. 20-25 mins from the airport, 15 mins from Rhodes Town or Faleraki, and a great beach 7 mins drive away, however I would recommend a car as you have to wind your way off the main road into the hill to get to the actual villa and public transport is therefore a good 15 minute walk away. There's plenty of parking at the villa though (easily 6 cars) and the electric gates make it pretty secure. All in all, a thoroughly nice place to which I'd certainly go back.
